Bequia uses XCD (Eastern Caribbean Dollar), which has an exchange rate of 2.7. That means one US dollar is worth 2.70 XCD, and 10 US dollars is worth 27.00 XCD, and so on. There is an ATM in the St. Vincent airport that will dispense XCD using a US debit card. There is also an ATM in Bequia located in Port Elizabeth. Most touristy places will also accept US money and credit/debit cards.

When visiting Saint Vincent, we personally recommend turning off your cellular data to avoid unexpected roaming charges. With your data off, your phone will still work on Wi-Fi, and most places offer Wi-Fi access, allowing you to go online, send messages, and make calls. If you need to, you can always turn your cellular data back on to make calls or send texts, though keep in mind that charges may apply (rates vary by carrier). You may also want to contact your carrier in advance to inquire about international travel packages

Almost everyone in Saint Vincent uses WhatsApp to communicate. It works over Wi-Fi. Make sure to download it before you go, so you’re all set when you arrive!
